Haven't been so excited in awhile!

Today was a GREAT Christmas! I got everything I asked for, and more. . . thanks family! :] But what makes it 10 times better is that I get to talk to my missionaries tonight. I know i'm gonna cry but it's going to be the best! I have been waiting to talk to my sister for too long, and miss her waaaay too much..more than I should. ahah just kiddin.
And I get to talk to my otha missionary..brandon! miss him more than i should too!
it should be a very great christmas all day long.

Running for Michael

This kid I knew passed away in an atv accident, and he loved to run! His sister is holding a running fundraiser type of thing for him, and I'm in! I was wondering if anyone wanted to do it with me! Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we went down to Aunt Jenny's house and the whole side of my mom's family was there. Except...Krista, Jake, Jackson, Kelan, David, Joe, and Rachel! IF they were there, it would be the best! It was still fun..just definitely not the same! I just thought I would list a couple of things i'm thankful for.

• Music: I know music isn't a huge thing in other people's life, but it definitely is in mine! If i'm having a bad day or want to get something off my mind, I go listen or play music. I LOVE IT!
• Service: Service has become a huge part of my life over the past few years. Whether it be a fun kind of service, or a certain kind of dirty work. I love seeing people happy, because it makes me happy!
• School: I never thought i'd be saying this! haha. But when the African Kids were at our house, they told us how important schooling was to them. I never really realized but school is a huge part of my life and and i am so thankful to have it in my life!
• Missionaries: Man-I have 2 amazing missionaries in my life! Roach clip..Let me just say that NOTHING...NOTHING is the same without her. Thanksgiving...Vacations....nothing. Imiss her terribly but I know she is doing something better. Second--my good friend Brandon. He's taught me so much..and brought me to be sooo thankful to my next thankful thingy. haha
• Scriptures: I promised him I'd read..and i haven't missed one day in reading my scriptures for almost 3 months! My love for scriptures has grown so much and if I didn't have them..boy would I be lost!
• The gospel: You can be happy with anything if you believe in the gospel. Think of anything...if you put the gospel into that situation--it's suddenly good.
• My friends: I love my friends! I'd be such a loser without them. They always bring out the good in me, and I'm so thankful for them!
• and...my family. I love my family so much! I know I can turn to them on anything I want, and they won't judge me any differently. My family is the best family anyone could ever ask for! They care so much about others! My parents couldn't raise their kids any better!!

Those are just a couple of things i'm so grateful for, but the main ones! I love my life and everyone in it! Happy Thanksgiving!

Cosmic Fever!!

Saturday night..we had an "all neon" cosmic fever dance. it was sooo fun! First--we went to laser quest and played two games. we were romeo and juliet. and he got first..i got second. it was amazing. we are amazing. haha and then we went to red robin for dinner...and the dance..and then watched a movie. it was a great night!

Happy Belated Birthday!

Dad's birthday was on the 13th. Just wanted to tell you dad that I love you so much! You can always make me smile even when I am SOO MAD AT YOU!! you can just sit there, and even when i'll pretend like i'm mad, i'll hide my face and laugh my head off! you turn my frown upside down and i love all you do for me and your effort to keep our family entertained! i love you so much. 2 years till your officially..old.

David's birthday was on the 15th! You probably aren't reading this dave! But you are the best! I know we don't see each other as much as i would hope--but you are the best brother! Whenever you call I can tell you care, and I know you are an amazing father! I really miss you and think..you should work with dad..and move down here.

Cookbooks, anyone?

I've got a week to sell 25 cookbooks! I was just wondering if anyone wants to buy any?! They are $10.00 each, and it's going towards a very good cause! I'm in FCCLA (Family, community, career leaders of America) at school, and we are holding a fundraiser. I took a picture of the cover of the books, and in my opinion, the food looks VERY good! An extremely embarrassing moment..

So, I went on a date with this amazingly hot guy last night! I was so excited for him to pick me up and when he was driving up here Krista was giving me the talk how I would always embarrass her when she dated guys..I don't even remember being that evil. Then, she's like, you better watch out i'm going to be in the trees with a video camera and taping you guys kissing! I was like, "yeah yeah..whatever." So we went on our date. Then I came back at midnight. . . and he didn't walk me to the door [LUCKILY!] All the sudden..i hear, "MANDI! OH MY GOSH! MANDI! MANDI!" i look over, and there's krista..in a TODDLER HALLOWEEN BUNNY OUTFIT skipping towards me with glee! I put my hood up and was super embarrassed and she ran up to me hugged me and wrapped her leg around me. I was SO freaking embarrassed. For the record, I didn't ever embarrass her that much. And she said, "That's just the beginning..you wait." We'll just say, let's hope there's a 3rd date!

My 5K Race!

Me and my dad went to a 5k Race to prevent domestic violence since it's domestic violence month! First of all..Let me tell you THANK YOU DAD for coming with me to do this! I had so much fun spending time with you and seeing how good you could do! haha. You did amazing and 12 times better than I thought you would. I'm so proud of you. So a 5k is...3.1 miles! My dad got done at about 22 minutes!! I got done at 20 minutes, and was the second girl to finish! I didn't think i did that good until my dad had to tell me how good i did. It was very tiring since I didn't really prepare myself and i'm way sore but I'm so proud of myself and think it's perty exciting! Guess what else? So after the race, there was a drawing for 4 gift cards to Gateway, a facial, and an ipod video. My dad WON THE IPOD VIDEO!! If he wouldn't of went with me, he never would have won that. Thank you dad for going with me, I had a blast!

Something to blog about

Krista told me this was so cool it was something to blog about! haha. so I thought i'd tell you all guys how cool this is! I was working in my dad's office the other day and my mom was like, "Did you see this?" I looked at the invoice and saw Kyle Korver "Utah Jazz" written on it! I was like, "Shut up! are you serious?" I didn't believe it. But i guess Kyle Korver is buying carpet from my papa! I almost peed. nearly. Because he's ashton kutcher. and he's a freaking JAZZ player. If it was Deron Williams I would have peed. But it was very cool and definitely something to blog about! :] hehe.

Camping!

You'll have to look at my mom's blog in a few weeks for the pictures because i am JUST TOO LAZY to put them on. We went camping and fourwheeling at the pink coral sand dunes with grandma, grandpa, and the hansons. all i can say is that it was A BLAST! the weather was perfect, and nobody got hurt! hah. Josh and Dalton both learned how to ride a clutch fourwheeler and were really good at it. Me, mom, and emily wrote a song around the campfire i just had to post.. [sing at the tune to "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer.]

Homecoming!

Homecoming couldn't have been better! I went with this kid named Keaton and he's the nicest kid i've ever met! he's tiny and extremely innocent. :] for our day activity, we rented out "Bouncing off the walls" for 2 hours. It's just a jumpy place with trampolines similar to some dudes playground. Then, we went to dinner and then to the dance, and then to this kid's house to watch a movie. I was home at 1:15!! That's pretty good, right? I had way fun! When I get our pictures back from school, i will definitely post them on here since i don't have any pics of him. Here's the day of homecoming when we left for dinner.

This last Tuesday I had my first "Sandy City Youth Court!" Most of you know what I do, but if you want more information about what it is click here.. I'll write a little description if you don't want to read all that.. :]

Sandy City Youth Court is an opportunity for minors who have broken a simple crime [such as theft] for the first time, and get a chance for restorative justice. If they do all of their disposition requirements (maybe..community service, theft class, etc.) the crime will come off their record.

It is a great experience and way rewarding. Our first court case was soo sad! Because the people who came in didn't have much in their family and they were struggling. But wish me luck for this coming year of Youth Court and also Sandy Youth City Council! I'm looking forward to it, but am also way nervous because it's so easy to mess up!! ahh..

FOOTBALL SEASON!

I've got to admit that i'm soo excited for football season to start. The U game was AMAZING, and tonight I went to a high school football game. Let me just say we're the best. :] undefeated 07 season and so far we're undefeated this season! I didn't get any pictures of me and friends but a couple of cool pictures on cell phones!!

SMARTY SICK!!

Guess what? I got asked to Homecoming with smarties! This is the poster they gave me..it kinda doesn't make sense but it was funny. I got like 200 smarties and had to find his name somewhere in there. I told my mama to help me. So she did. :] the VERY FIRST ONE she opened was the answer. I was way excited. But i've been eating smarties all day long so i'm kinda sick! I'm soo EXCITED!

Man this week pretty much sucked! Because the Kenyan kids left my house. So now..it's like so quiet! And I had to say gooodbye to Brandon. So..Krista I posted this for you so you can see him. HAHA. <3

My mom was freaking out, and I always remember how we called his car the "christmas tree" because it had christmas colors on his car. :]

Oregon Sand Dunes

I got the chance to go to the Oregon Sand Dunes this year! We usually do every year, but last year we didn't. I don't exactly remember why. But the whole family was there! Krista, Jake, Jackson, Kelan, David, Joe. except Rachel and chris. Shelbi was there too! But i have to admit it definitely wasn't the same without Rachel. It was still fun, but I swear it wasn't as fun as it usally is. I'm still glad I went, but think it would have been 12 times more fun if she was there. :'( I really miss her Im not going to lie.

Lagoon?

So im kinda blogging about boring things lately. But this is what's been up with my summer lately! I went to Lagoon with Shelbi, Kyle, and one of my really really good friends visiting from California. It was a blast! You should all be extremely proud of me. do you know why? Because I went on the skycoaster. I never ever thought I would do that, but Kyle paid for me so I basically had to. I was in the bathroom peeing. I came out and he handed me a ticket. I almost peed my pants. But it was amazingly fun!! haha

Idaho!!

For youth conference, we went to Idaho. It was way fun! Besides sleeping and having "girl talk" with our young women leaders until 3 a.m., we went river rafting, yellowstone park, did service projects, and a lot more! It was way fun. Here's some pictures of us there. :]

It's a Hoax!!

So I just got home from Oregon. I missed The Season Finale of The Bachelorette! But luckily, I taped it. So as I was watching, I just couldn't wait for Jason to propose and DeAnna to say Yes. I was just waiting for that moment. Let me just say...The Bachelorette HAS TO BE A HOAX!! I don't understand why she picked Jesse cuz he didn't seem that in love with her. And she even said herself, "Normally, I wouldn't date a guy like you." AAAGHh! I was so sad for Jason. Let me just say...He better be the next Bachelor--or i'm done.

I have been FREAKING out over this season of the bachelorette. This Monday, Deanna is getting proposed to and I really have been wanting Jason to win the whole season. If he wins...krista I CALLED IT!! I really liked Jeremy too but she was just playing with his head the whole time--it seemed like. He was in love with her and she broke his poor little heart. UGH!! But i'm really pumped for this Monday. I REALLY HOPE JASON WINS!! He is in love with her... & I don't think jesse is. You guys may think i'm a freak but if she doesn't pick Jason--I will be mad at her. heh

Happy Birthday Mama!!

So she doesn't take any pictures! and she didn't want me putting any on here...
but I thought i'd wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! It was kind of a sad birthday
since she's missing Rachel...a LOT. you can't really bring it up or she'll start
tearing up. haha. but that's why i love her! she is SOO caring. I know it was hard
to say bye to Rachel but she is so caring and loves us so much. I love her too!
and I just wanted to tell her happy birthday to the best mom anyone could

It was so weird saying goodbye to Rachel! I haven't been away from her for more than 2 weeks or so. Krista said, "Are you even gonna cry when you go to the mtc?" How mean! Of course I did. The night she got set apart was way hard for me because I realized it will be a whole year and a half. We got the chance to hang out quite a lot the week before she left...almost every day. We were so hyper together and I am really going to miss her and her funny voices! I know she'll be a great missionary and she is an absolute amazing examlpe to me..i love her very much so!!

EFY..

Monday-Saturday me and Shelbi went to EFY down at BYU. So I can't even begin to describe how freaking fun it was. Friday night we had a dance and then got in a circle with our company. I was trying so hard not to cry because who knew I could get so close to someone in such short time. Here's a couple pictures of all my favorite friends I made there!
